As the tussle for the election of the National Assemble Leadership thickens, the end to the fisticuffs draws near with several opposing Senators changing their minds in favour of person despite insinuations of disagreement and harassment.
The immediate past Deputy Senate President, Sen, Ike Ekweremadu is among the most prominent contender in race who was likely to emerge the winner if played the usual tortoise games. But this time, the game is perfectly monitored, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu has backed off, clamoring support for the leading contender, Sen. Ahmed Lawan.
The meeting for the endorsement of Sen. Lawan was held in Sen, Ekweremadu’s residence at Apo Legislative Quarters on Sunday with the attendance of many prominent PDP Senators-elect Like Sen. Dino Malaye, Sen. Abaribe, Sen. Theodore Orji and host of others Senators.
Sen. Ahmed Lawan’s team has on Saturday unveiled 61 names of APC Senators-elect that has endorsed him as the next Senate President with 37 PDP Senators on his side too. The 9th National Assemble will be inaugurated on the 11th of June, 2019.
