The 7th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Held First Plenary Session
Today, being the 18th June, 2019. The 7th Akwa Ibom State House of Assemble held her first plenary session. The event took place in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly chambers, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
The Plenary started at exactly 12:36pm and had in attendance all the newly sworn in members and the the speaker of the 7th House of Assembly in person of Hon. Aniekan Bassey who walked in with standing ovation by members of the house and sundry.
The speaker of the house today, set up an ad-hoc committee to look into the member’s welfare.
The speaker of the house spare headed the committee and also set up another committee which will oversee the dissolution of ad-hoc committee.
Similarly, the house also constituted a committee that will over the constitution of the standing committee.
Being the first plenary, the sitting did not last long as there was no correspondence. Having being checked by the clerk of the house as it was ordered by the Leader of the House . Hon. Udo Kerian.
In the announcement by the speaker, the monthly solemn assembly of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is slated to hold on Monday, 24th June, 2019.
The members of the house and their spouse as well as all staff of the AKHA are expected to attend.
The sitting came to an end exactly by 1:02pm after the motion for adjournment was moved duly seconded.
The plenary was a success as the two ad-hoc committees were successful constituted and the plenary was adjourned to Tuesday, 25th June, 2019.
